Gary Colyar has supported the Overseas Private Investment Corporation’s (OPIC) mission in numerous capacities since joining in 1995, advancing OPIC’s Direct Lending, Loan Guaranty, Political Risk Insurance and Private Equity Funds programs. In these roles, Gary has originated, structured and monitored loans and lending facilities, and helped OPIC establish the Small Business Center.

In his current position as Managing Director, Gary is responsible for directing OPIC’s Enterprise Development Network (EDN). As its creator, he formed EDN as a strategic public/private partnership, leveraging technology to facilitate investment in developing economies worldwide.

EDN’s holistic approach facilitates investment and establishes an investment infrastructure and platform for all to participate regardless of location or business sector.
Now in its sixth year, EDN has over 120 partners employing 1,500 business consultants worldwide and the EDN Search Engine promotes over 200 organizations.

Mr. Colyar graduated from The George Washington University with a B.B.A., International Business, and the University of Maryland with a M.A., International Management.
